2020 Season Update

To the Old Melburnians Football Community,

The VAFA board met on the evening of July 1 in response to State Government announcements related to geographical lockdowns. During the meeting it was determined the 2020 VAFA season will be cancelled.

It was clear that the health and safety risks are far too great to proceed with the 2020 season. This decision was not an easy one and has not been made lightly, however the health and well-being of the playing groups and football communities was at the forefront of their discussions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our OMFC committee for their continued positivity and hard work they have completed to give us every chance of a season being held.

We would also like to recognize and thank our coaches, players and community for your support and understanding across the last three months of uncertainty and applaud your drive and resilience under very difficult circumstances.

We will now turn our efforts into planning for an exciting centenary playing season in 2021.

For now, we wish everyone the very best through this period and we hope all of the OMFC community is safe and well.
